Humorous study of penguins watching the fisherman and the washing blowing in the breeze overseen by a typical candy-striped lighthouse. Lighthouse was the cover for the 2005-2006 Portfolio Bed & Breakfast Collection, and decorated the boardroom of the Portfolio Collection offices in Cape Town.
Carol Mangiagalli is possibly South Africa’s foremost naïve artist whose whimsical, charming and colourful works reflect everyday rural, village or city life with a quirky sense of humour. Carol paints the frames for each work and eight of her artworks have graced the covers of the Portfolio Bed & Breakfast and Portfolio Retreats Collection between 2000 to 2011.
