A typical vibrant and colourful Tingatinga (Tinga Tinga) style artwork, purchased from the artist in Tanzania in the late 1990s, and which decorated Klippe Rivier Country House in Swellendam.
Note: The father of the Tingatinga movement was Edward (Eduardo) Saidi Tingatinga (1937–1972) who was born in southern Tanzania, the movement started in Dar-es-Salaam and became popular with visiting tourists and collectors. The bright, colourful paintings depict stylised animals and birds, and scenes of village life.
